Alder Creek Music

A Brief History

By 1983, Steve Wingrove had already achieved 15 years of band instrument repair experience. During this year, the mechanically inclined twenty-something decided to combine his love of all things music and his enthusiasm for using his mechanical abilities. He formally opened his repair shop and called it Steve Wingrove Band Instrument Repair. Operating out of his home basement, Steve served beginners to professionals with their band instrument repair needs and also became the sole operative in servicing many Western New York school districts. In 1988, he became a professional member of the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians (NAPBIRT). By this time, Steve's reputation for quality repairs and genuine service had become widespread and he recognized the need to expand to a separate location. He bought an old fire hall on Niagara Falls Boulevard and in 1990, he officially opened the doors of Alder Creek Music, Inc..

Since then, Steve Wingrove has successfully continued to combine old world quality and craftsmanship with modern day advances in repair technique. Alder Creek Music offers a broad range of services, including: restoration and repair of vintage and new instruments; instrument merchandise and accessories retailing; in-store and online consignment sales; buying, selling and trading new and used instruments; instrument rentals including brass, woodwind, double reed and percussion; and private instrumental lesson studios with instruction for piano, drums, guitar, bass guitar, saxophone, flute, clarinet, french horn, trombone, trumpet, tuba, oboe and bassoon.

Alder Creek Music, Inc. is an authorized dealer of Samick Guitars and Yorkville sound equipment, as well as Antoine Courtois, B&S, Besson, Buffet, Cannonball, Conn- Selmer, Holton, Keilwerth, King, LeBlanc, Meinl Weston, P. Mauriat, and Schreiber instruments.
